This afternoon, PCSO Angela attended the Africa Day event held at Simpson Memorial Hall, Moston Lane. The event was well attended by members of the local community, with numerous community groups present to celebrate and promote the rich culture and heritage of African communities.

A variety of stalls were available throughout the venue, providing information on different African cultures and traditions. Demonstrations included African hair braiding techniques using mannequin heads, displays of traditional cultural clothing, and opportunities for attendees to sample a range of African foods.

The event provided an excellent opportunity for community engagement, bringing together residents from diverse backgrounds in a positive and inclusive environment. Information was shared regarding the history, customs, and heritage of the various African communities represented.

The Lord Mayor was in attendance alongside local councillors, who were invited onto the stage and actively participated in the cultural celebrations, including joining in with traditional dancing performances. Their involvement was warmly received by attendees and contributed to the positive atmosphere of the event.

Overall, the event was a successful celebration of diversity, culture, and community cohesion, with strong engagement from local residents, partner organisations, and civic representatives.
